Plain City, Ohio
Real Estate

Small-town feel, 20 minutes from Dublin

Plain City is where a lot of Central Ohio buyers end up once they realize they want more space without giving up the commute. There's a walkable Uptown with its clock tower, wide-open farmland, and quick access to Dublin, Hilliard and Marysville via US-42 and US-33. Plain City has a strong local identity that newer suburbs can't copy.

I live and work here, so this isn't a page I wrote from a spreadsheet.

By the Numbers

The Plain City market
right now

Homes are selling in about a month, at close to full price.

0132 DaysMedian time on market
02$585KMedian sale price ($585,000)
0399.3%Median share of list price buyers paid
04142 / 148Homes sold in the last 90 days / for sale right now

At the current pace, today's listings would sell out in about 3 months. That's close to a balanced market. Homes priced right and presented well are selling quickly. Overpriced homes are sitting, and a few have been on the market close to a year. For sellers, pricing is everything here. For buyers, there's room to negotiate on homes that have been sitting.

These figures cover all residential sales in the 43064 ZIP code, which includes Jerome Township and Jerome Village as well as the village of Plain City, and they include new construction. Local Favorites

Life in
Plain City

Plain City isn't a place you drive through. It's a place you stop in. Here are a few of my favorites:

The Red Hen Café & Bakery

My pick for a slow morning in town. Get a 614 Latte and the Nest with a biscuit for breakfast, grab a blueberry muffin for the road, or come back at lunch for the Reuben.

Yutzy's Farm Market

A true local farm market and one of the things that makes Plain City feel like Plain City. I stock up on fresh produce and bread every time I stop in.

114 W Bourbon & Cocktail Club

Plain City's private, members-only bourbon club, and worth the membership. My go-to is the Seoul of the Dead.

Add Pastime Park for festivals and summer ball games and Big Darby Creek for paddling and nature walks, and you've got a small town with plenty to do. You're still about 20 minutes from Dublin.
